Single Malt Ardbeg Ardcore is the new limited edition 2022, launched to mark Ardbeg Day. This new edition of Ardberg whisky is also named 'Punk Rock', in memory of the forgotten past of the Isle of Islay, once known as 'Punk Ellen'.

Ardbeg Ardcore is based on the distillation of a black malt rather than cask maturation, a real innovation in the world of peaty single malts. The cereal is cooked at a very high temperature so that the malt becomes roasted - this is known as a black malt. The process is very delicate: if the temperature exceeds 250°C, the malt turns into charcoal and can catch fire.
