Montcalmès Coteaux Languedoc 2019

Un domaine des terrasses de Larzac dans le Languedoc qui a su, ces 20 dernières années, tirer son épingle du jeu à côté de ses légendaires voisins « Les Granges des Pères » et « Daumas Gassac ».

A cru made from thirty-year-old vines of Syrah (60%), Mourvèdre and Grenache (20% each), with yields of no more than 250 gr/m2.

After de-stemming and crushing, these grape varieties are vinified separately. One month of vatting before blending and ageing in used oak barrels for two years. Bottled without filtration.

Decanting will reveal notes of ripe fruit, liquorice and spices, enveloped in silky, delicate tannins, a perfect match for a wild boar stew.
