Appleton 15 yo Jamaique rum 70 cl 43° proof
The Appleton Estate distillery is based in Jamaica, in the fertile Nassau Valley, which enjoys an ideal microclimate. The distillery owns 4,400 hectares of land and harvests 216,000 tonnes of sugar cane every year. The Black River also offers very soft water, perfect for distilling Appleton Rum.
Black River ? It's the name of a river that rises in the heart of the Appleton Estate in Jamaica. It is from this source that the pure, crystal-clear water is drawn to reduce the brand's rums to the desired strength.
A river that is therefore associated with the history of the brand and, more generally, with the history of the Jamaican rumIt was at its mouth, fifty kilometres from the estate, that the port town of Kingston was located, from where sugar and rum were exported.
The name of this new cuvée is a tribute to the latter. It's a blend of different molasses rums distilled in pot stills and column stills, carefully selected by Joy Spencethe world's first female cellar master. The bottle has been redesigned for the occasion.
This 15 years old aged in American oak casks scored 94 out of 100 points at the Beverage Tasting Institute, and was awarded a Gold Medal.
The structure of this rum means you can enjoy it neat or with an ice cube.
