Château Cheval Blanc - St Emilion 1er Grand Cru Classé 2010

Château Cheval Blanc, 1er Grand Cru Classé, is the most prestigious estate in St-Emilion. Spread over a mosaic of soils, the vines are planted with Cabernet Franc (57%), Merlot (39%), Malbec and Cabernet Sauvignon. The wine is aged in new barrels for 18 months. The considerable expertise of the technical team helps to maintain the legend of this legendary cru.
The nose of Cheval Blanc 2010 is a little subdued at first, opening up with measured, provocative notes of melted chocolate, candied Morello cherries, cooked blackberries, boysenberries and blueberry compote, with hints of undergrowth, cigar box, caraway seeds and sandalwood. Full-bodied, the palate is a veritable atom bomb ready to explode, with tightly packed, slowly ripening black fruits revealing a vast palette of nuances. Still very young, it finishes with a firework display of earthy, mineral notes that are incredibly persistent and breathtaking.
