Le Clos des Papes is one of the most legendary estates in the Châteauneuf du Pape appellation and is considered to be one of France's greatest wines.

A judicious blend of 24 parcels of vines aged between 35 and 80 years with limited yields.

Elegance is the watchword for this estate, which can rival some of the very finest Burgundies.

The Clos des Papes 2023 red is a very well-balanced vintage, both elegant and structured, with beautifully ripe, silky tannins. This wine is long on the palate, definitely a year for laying down, characterised by black fruit aromas (blackcurrant, blackberry) but also the spicy character provided by Mourvèdre. The percentages are identical to the previous year, i.e. 55% Grenache, 30% Mourvèdre, 10% Syrah, 5% Counoise, Vaccarèse, Muscardin and Cinsault. This is undoubtedly a wine for laying down, as it is very fresh. As this wine is unfiltered, a very slight deposit may appear on certain vintages. Simply take your bottle out of the cellar a little earlier and decant. Our wines should be served at a temperature of 14-15°. It is a good idea to decant them, but it is not necessary to do so more than 2 hours beforehand, as it is always interesting to appreciate the evolution in the glass.
