Description
This new Bruichladdich 18 years old is bottled at 50° and features the distillery's new packaging Bruichladdich.
Matured exclusively on Islay, mainly in old Bourbon casks and a small number of wine casks, The Bruichladdich Eighteen is the embodiment of Bruichladdich's iconic unpeated house style. Full-bodied and beautifully flavoured, notes of honey, butterscotch and citrus open up on the nose, with a mix of tropical fruit and mellow toasted oak lingering on the palate.
THE distillery produces a non-peated single malt under the name Bruichladdich, a very peated single malt under the name Port Charlotte and an extremely peated single malt under the name Octomore.
Adam Hannett :
"This is a single malt of the highest provenance. Every element of The Bruichladdich Eighteen - from the specific harvest and the varieties of barley used, to the exact casks in which it matured - is fully traceable. Which, for a whisky of this age, is quite incredible.
Eighteen years ago we distilled spirit from our very first crop of Islay barley and our passion for diversifying and promoting our grain growing programme has never wavered. It's about producing delicious, real-origin whisky that also benefits our community - and The Bruichladdich Eighteen is the embodiment of that philosophy."
